So, i go in for a tranfusion tomorrow morning.
my red count is half of normal… no wonder i’ve been feeling so punk.. im working on half a tank! like im on everest.
oh.. EDIT:
just got my hearing testing again too.
looks like i have hearing damage from the chemo too.
im getting all the “rare” side-effects, like lung damage.
on the plus side, i know many musicians who can’t hear worth shit, and still are better then me.

Chemo sucks! Sorry you are getting every side effect possible! Thats gotta mean you are getting the good effects too!!

I am praying for you today. No more side-effects!

Aw man, that really sucks.
I’ll let you in on a secret: due to a childhood ear infection my hearing was damaged. The nice thing is your brain can do a remarkable job of compensating and filling in the gaps. I have a feeling you’ll be ok. You’re almost done!
I’m a little surprised they don’t have you on epogen or procrit (the stuff that blood doping atheletes use). Your doctors probably have a reason why not, but if it can make that old dude in the commercials get up and play on the jungle gym with his grandkids it seems like it can’t be all bad. Then we’d just have to order you a set of monkey bars for your studio.

At least your fingernails didn’t fall out though, right? I still say BOO(urns).
But yea, Andy is totally right. Maybe you won’t even notice.

Remember I am not a real doctor… but….
I have a theory on why no Procrit/EpoE
John has been given GCMF (or was it GCF? well, the G-shot) shots.
GCMF helps bone marrow grow. Bone marrow is a major target for chemotheraputic drugs — , anything that grows fast is killed by chemo– like hair, bone marrow, and tumors.
Procrit helps healthy bone marrow produce more red blood cells.
John needs t more red AND white blood cells.

lol
haven’t lost the ability to make multi-layered self-deprecating zingers, or the crusty beat swirls.
